The Problem
The Mennonite Creation Care Network is a bi-national Christian organization affiliated with the Mennonite Church USA and the Mennonite Church Canada. They seek to inspire and support creation care efforts in Mennonite congregations, schools, agencies, households, workplaces and neighborhoods. The network primarily uses their website as an educational tool and clearinghouse for information. Like any organization seeking to further its mission, MCCN wanted to generate buzz and engagement around their cause, effectively share resources, and generate opportunities for partnerships. Their old website could no longer fulfill their needs. They needed to have a site that not only met their needs now but could handle expanded functionality down the road.
The Solution
LightSky was able to deliver a site with a modern look built on Drupal 7. With the security and increased functionality of Drupal 7, each organization in the Mennonite Creation Care Network was afforded their own microsite. Additional features like “find a member” were added. The site is clean and user friendly. On the back-end, it’s easy to update and maintain. LightSky was even able to import content from the old WordPress site which made the transition even smoother, plus saved time and kept the project on budget.
Later LightSky was able to rework several aspects of the site, and add a custom curriculum piece for MCCN Members to have access to. This demonstrates the flexibility that Drupal offers, and represents a significant cost savings over completely rebuilding the site.
