The Problem
Founded in 1987 by the leading global growth equity firm, General Atlantic, Echoing Green has provided more than 500 promising social entrepreneurs working in over forty countries with $31 million in start-up funding. Echoing Green also provides customized support services and maintains a global network of like-minded social leaders and investors*. Echoing Green needed a website that could keep up with the pace of its constituents. That meant finding a way to manage the massive volume of content, enabling multiple people to update the site, and insuring that the site remained a relevant and effective communication tool.
The Solution
LightSky worked with Echoing Green to define the infrastructure and navigation of the site. We installed a Drupal content management system with RSS features and customized modules. We integrated Salesforce, a CRM, to create the Echoing Green “Find a Fellow” feature and functionality. This eliminated the need to enter content in more than one location. LightSky heavily modified the open source Q & A platform, Shapado, to develop a site for the Work on Purpose community. LightSky worked closely with Echoing Green to insure that all users- visitors and administrators with various permissions- could easily use the site. And, LightSky optimized echoinggreen.org for SEO to support the organization’s mission and reach.
